To Evelyn: Jim or Jimmy as he was to me- was a huge part of my early childhood in Woodstock. We played cowboys and Indians, many games of road hockey, explored Woodstock on our bikes, walked the tracks, climbed trees and the stories go on. I believe he gave me my first bloody nose and I returned the favour. We were like brothers for many of our early years. Even though I haven’ t seen Jim in many years I am deeply saddened by his passing. My condolences go to you( my former babysitter)

To Jim's family: Like Jim, I grew up on Admiral Street but on the other side of Vansittart Avenue. I have many memories of playing football with him at Vansittart Park, playing road hockey in front of my mom's house at 325 Admiral with lots of neighborhood kids including Jim and playing one of the first electronic football games at Jim's house. Early in my 20's I moved to Windsor, but still would bump into Jim when we visited Woodstock. After I left town, my mom said he would sometimes visit her and sit on the front porch chatting. So seeing his death notice brought back lots of good memories. My sympathy to all of his family. Peter Smith
