Brian Small coached with us for 5 years, 3 of those years his son spent on the team with us the last 2 years Brian stayed with us. The three coaches for OBA basketball were Duane Thomas, Jag Rai and Brian Small. We went from being co-coaches to friends to essentially family. Both of us shared our kids’ births with him and we attended Brian and Pam's wedding. Brian had great passion for the game of basketball, was calm, cool and collective at all times. He brought the best out of us (players and coaches) and it wouldn’t have been the same without him. His last name was Small but his heart was very Big. Brian was an exceptional man and loved the sport of basketball, he was always helping and volunteering his time to coaching. Brian really enjoyed coaching and it showed with the great smile at each practice and at all the games. The players adored Brian and would greatly miss him when he was not able to attend a game, which weren’t many. Brian made such an amazing impact on the players and was always helpful. We are honoured to have known such a wonderful man and his wonderful family.

So, sorry to hear about the passing of Brian. You and all your family and friends are going to miss this wonderful man. We were looking at the pictures of the " cruise gang" and felt so sad to loose Brian so young and so soon. Holding on to the wonderful memories of your wedding, the cruises and spending time with Brian. Love Greg and Shelly.
